Karen Rameka - Artist
Welcome to my website. I am pleased to be able to offer some of my artworks for sale and keep you up to date with what I am doing in the exhibiting area.
A Little bit about me -
I was brought up in Whitianga on the Coromandel Peninsula. Spending most of my life at the beach or in the country side, farm or bush. This is reflected in my work. I met my husband and moved to Galatea in 1997 and then pursued a career in Administration. It wasn't until January 2010 that I realized my dream and had my first exhibition at Rave in Rotorua, it was well received and I sold over half my paintings. A highlight in my career came in 2013 when I was accepted into the Rotorua Museum Art Awards, selling my painting on the opening night.
Since then I have branched out and offer a custom range of hand illustrated porcelain as well as art prints, and photography. I love to work with acrylics but do not limit myself to one medium as I also love washes and shellacs. I dabble in water colours, and love the fact that sometimes the end product is a real surprise. Commission painting work will be considered.
If you want to purchase some of my goods then you can use the form on this site, email me, phone me. Come visit me at my studio or come along to my stall at the Galatea Market held the second Saturday in November each year, I am a co-organiser of this event.

I now have 2 kids and a studio, and wish I had more time in my day to create.
I hope you enjoy my website, thanks.
